Me: "What's up Ian?"
Ian: "AAAAAAAAAH!!"
Me: "Um, AAAH?!"
Ian: "AAAAAAAAAAAH!!"
Me: "Why are you yelling?"
Ian: "I'm a bird mommy!!"
Me: "Ahhhh"
<late that night, 2:30 am to be specific, a noise is heard in Ian's room, which is directly below ours. A mother grudgingly hauls her tired self out of bed to investigate further. Clomp, clomp, mumble bad word, clomp, down the stairs>
Ian: "AAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Me: "AH?"
Ian: "AAAAAAAAAAAH!!"
Me: "Are you a bird?"
Ian: "Yea"
<Ian reaches out and touchs my leg>
Ian: "You gots no pants on Mommy!"
Me: "Yes. Go to sleep Birdman"
A few weekends ago, we went to a place called, Frying Pan Park, where they have a farm. Every year, the animals at this farm give birth during winter and in the spring the have "Baby Animal Day". But of course. Anyone with children under the age of 5 can tell you, that the first thing any child ever learns is how to MOOO like a cow. There is some law that ALL children's books must be about farm animals (or should end with someone going to bed).
We went last year, when Ian was not yet two years old. He ran from barn to barn, pen to pen, pointing at whatever animal was in said stall or pen and then making the appropriate noise at the TOP OF HIS LUNGS!
Cow: MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Sheep: BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa
Goat: MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
etc. etc. He was the only child doing this.
This year, there was no running pen to pen, barn to barn screaming out animal noises, but there was still much excitement over the baby animals. Ian got to pet a real live lamb! and a real live cow! He also got to ride on a trailer pulled by a tractor.
Hey, Hoss! Can you believe the price of wheat these days?
You say "baaa" I say, "eh?!"
This looks bigger than the ones in my books!
Alexander was there too, but because he is the second child, we have no photos of him at farm. But, we do have these pictures of Alexander...
My nostrils, they have a certain j'nais ce quoi? no?
II cannot stand how cute I am either! Someday, I will actually sit up on my own!
I have more to write, about our BIG DAY OUT with a certain useful engine. But I will put that in another post. For now, I am schmeepy and am going to post this to move this blog along...
